Valoración del estado nutricional de los pacientes ingresados antes y después de una intervención quirúrgica

[spa] Son numerosas las investigaciones que ya evidencian el impacto que la desnutrición comporta en el paciente quirúrgico, y la alta tasa de prevalencia de malnutrición que existe hoy en día, tanto en el paciente hospitalizado como institucionalizado en residencia, presentando un mayor riesgo de desarrollar complicaciones, incremento de la morbilidad-mortalidad, aumento de los días de hospitalización y consecuentemente de los costes sanitarios. El objetivo de mi trabajo es determinar el estado nutricional de los pacientes quirúrgicos ingresados en el Hospital General Universitario Rafael Méndez (H.R.M.) en el periodo perioperatorio antes y después de una intervención quirúrgica. Se realizará un estudio observacional, descriptivo, transversal y prospectivo, realizado en la planta de cirugía y especialidades de dicho hospital. Los sujetos a estudio serán individuos que respondan con los criterios de inclusión: edad mayor o igual a 18 años y menor de 60 años, intervención quirúrgica programada y cirugía mayor, ingreso realizado en un periodo menor o igual a 48 horas previas al reclutamiento y que firmen el consentimiento informado para la participación en el estudio. El tamaño muestral estimado, 384 pacientes (prevalencia estimada del 50%, IC 95% precisión 0.05). Como instrumentos para la recogida de datos se empleará un cuestionario diseñado para tal fin y la escala Nutritional Risk Screening 2002 (NRS- 2002). El análisis estadístico consistirá en una descripción de todas las variables del estudio y el cálculo de la OR de prevalencia y su IC 95%.

Study subjects will be patients who meet the criteria for inclusion: greater than or equal to 18 years old and less than 60 years, major surgery, programmed surgical intervention and income in a period less than or equal to 48 hours prior to recruitment and that sign informed consent for participation in the study. The estimation of the sample size: 384 patients (estimated prevalence 50%, IC 95% accuracy 0.05). Since instruments for the withdrawal of information there will use a questionnaire designed for such an end and the scale Nutritional Risk Screening 2002 (NRS-2002). The statistical analysis will consist of a description of all the variables of the study and the calculation of the OR of prevalence and his IC 95 %.
