[eng] This paper aims to study the dynamics of three variables that have shown influence in
psychological therapies to quit smoking: anxiety, mood and anger. We analyze an actual
clinical case of tobacco addiction in treatment with cognitive-behavioral therapy. Through the
Momentaneous Ecological Assessment, self-evaluations of the three emotions are collected,
twice a day for 80 days, before, during and after treatment. The procedures for reconstructing
the phase space of the three emotions were tested, separately and also together, with the
visualization of the emotional inertia throughout the intervention and a quantitative analysis
of scale invariance by means of allometric aggregation. The results show that different
patterns that could go unnoticed from the traditional perspective are shown by the non-linear
approach. Likewise, scale invariance was observed in all three emotions indicating that
fluctuations do not occur randomly and that there is self-similarity. Finally, the best time to
apply treatment to the patient is briefly discussed. |
