The importance of English in the classrooms of Early Childhood Education

Abstract

[eng] This dissertation for a bachelor degree in Early childhood Education offers an extensive theoretical foundation based on authors and their theories, which demonstrate and defend English language education from very early ages, thus promoting the overall and global growth of children. In addition to a deep study about the process by which we acquire this second language, the forms and levels of acquisition of this, it includes the general framework of the teaching of foreign languages in the Spanish education system. Furthermore, it offers authoritative information about the importance of English language learning today, considered the most widely used language as a means of communication in the globalized society and the third most spoken language in the world. Finally, a small-scale study is carried out with the teachers of the 2nd cycle of Early Childhood Education through a questionnaire, which aims to analyze and present the reality of English language teaching within the classrooms in some private, semi-private educational centers and state schools in Mallorca. We can observe the data extracted through the statistical figures and the final conclusions.

[spa] En el presente trabajo de fin de grado se ofrece una extensa fundamentación teórica basada en autores y sus teorias, que demuestran y defienden la educación en lengua inglesa des de edades muy tempranas, favoreciendo así el crecimiento integral y global de los niños, además de un profundo estudio acerca del proceso por el cual adquirimos la segunda lengua, las formas y los niveles de adquisición de esta, incluye el marco general de la enseñanza de las lenguas extranjeras en el sistema educativo español. Para añadir, se ofrece información fonamentada en autores sobre la importancia que tiene hoy en dia el aprendizaje de la lengua inglesa, considerada como el idioma mas utilizado como medio de comunicación en la sociedad globalizada y el tercer idioma mas hablado del mundo. Finalmente, se realiza un estudio al profesorado del 2º ciclo de Educación Infantil a través de un cuestionario de elaboración propia, que pretende analizar y dar a conocer la realidad de la enseñanza de la lengua inglesa dentro de las aulas en algunos centros educativos privados, concertados y públicos de Mallorca. Podemos observar los datos extraidos mediante los graficos estadísticos y las conclusiones finales.
