postural, neuroregeneración cortical, densidad mineral ósea, mejora a nivel
[eng] Objective: To conduct a literature review on the effectiveness of virtual reality in the

Methods: Information was searched in 5 electronic databases, articles were selected by
means of inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria and a total of 30 articles were

Patients: A total of 194 patients between the ages of 5 and 18 years were considered,
with a level of involvement ranging from GMFCS 1 to 4 and different types of
affectation, all undergoing virtual reality (VR) treatment.
Results: Improvements have been observed after performing VR therapy with respect to motivation, mobility and strengthening of lower limbs, balance, postural control,
cortical regeneration, bone mineral density, improvement at cardiac respiratory level
and functionality of upper limbs.
Conclusions: The results suggest the absence of contraindications in addition to the
amount of positive effects in children with PCI after treatment with RV. More scientific
evidence is needed to express more specifically the efficacy of a specific treatment with
RV in a certain circumstance or in a type of cerebral palsy.
