Caracterización de los puntos negros de atropellos de marta, Martes martes, en la isla de Mallorca

Abstract

[spa] Mallorca, es una isla del mar Mediterráneo que consta de 1700 km de redes viarias, las cuales son recorridas cada año por parte de los turistas y los residentes. El aumento de líneas de transporte y vehículos en la isla provoca la fragmentación del territorio, afectando a las poblaciones de animales presentes en el mismo. Martes martes es una especie de mamífero carnívoro de la familia Mustelidae que fue introducido en la isla de Mallorca en la colonización de las Islas Baleares por el hombre, siendo uno de los mamíferos que sufren la muerte por atropello en la isla. El objetivo del estudio fue reconocer los distintos parámetros que provocan la muerte de la marta. Se realizó un análisis de diversos parámetros en dos periodos diferentes, 2007-2008 y 2017-2018. Se estudiaron las posibles relaciones entre variables mediante la prueba de contraste de hipótesis y el test estadístico de correlación, además de realizar una estadística descriptiva de los datos. Los resultados obtenidos permiten caracterizar que parámetros pueden explicar la mortalidad de las martas en las carreteras de Mallorca. En este sentido, las carreteras que provocan una mayor cantidad de muertes son las secundarias, que constan de un entorno que dificulta la visibilidad del animal, pero, que, al mismo tiempo, ofrecen recursos y un habitat adecuado para vivir.

[eng] Mallorca, is an island of the Mediterranean Sea which consists on 1700 km of road networks that are visited every year by tourists and residents. The increase of transport lines and vehicles on the island causes the fragmentation of the territory, affecting the populations of animals present in it. Martes martes is a specie of carnivorous mammal of the Mustelidae family that was introduced on the island of Mallorca in the colonization of the Balearic Islands by man, being one of the mammals that suffers death by being run over on the island. The objective of the study is to recognize the parameters that cause the death of the marten. A parameter analysis was performed in two different periods, 2007-2008 and 2017-2018. The possible relationships between variables were studied by means of the hypothesis test and the correlation statistical test, in addition to performing a descriptive statistics of the data. The results allow us to characterize the roads that cause the death of the marten. The roads that cause a greater number of deaths are the second roads, which consist of an environment that makes the visibility of the animal difficult, but which, at the same time, offer resources and an adequate habitat to live.
