Origen y transformación histórica de la capilla del Santísimo en la Catedral de Mallorca

[spa] La capilla del Santísimo en la Catedral de Mallorca constituye un espacio histórico marcado por la trans- formación mobiliar. El testimonio más reciente ha sido la reforma de Miquel Barceló, que ha abierto el debate a nivel internacional por tratarse de la intervención completa de una capilla medieval en buen estado de conservación. Sin embargo, el proyecto de Barceló no es más que la consecuencia de una tradición histórica fundamentada, principalmente, en la actualización litúrgica de los espacios de la Catedral. En este artículo se realizará un recorrido de carácter diacrónico que pretende poner de mani esto la movilidad histórica de la capilla, provocada por razones de culto y de un incendio fortuito, y que ha supuesto una constante transfor- mación de su patrimonio. Dicha movilidad se ha dado de forma ininterrumpida y constituye el legado histórico con el que enlazó Barceló, transformando la capilla de san Pedro en la capilla del Santísimo. [eng] The Holy Sacrament Chapel in the Majorca Cathedral is a historic space marked by the movable transfor- mation. The most recent testimony has been the reform of Miquel Barceló, which has opened the debate on the international level because it is the complete intervention of a medieval chapel in a good state of conservation. However, the Barceló's project is nothing more than the consequence of a historical tradition based on the litur- gical update of the Cathedral spaces. In this article, a diachronic tour of the chapel will be carried out in order to show the historical mobility of the chapel, caused by cult reasons and a fortuitous re, and that has meant a constant transformation of its patrimony. This mobility has taken place uninterruptedly and constitutes the his- torical legacy with which Barceló linked, transforming the chapel of Saint Peter in the Holy Sacrament Chapel.
