d’activitats terciàries no requereixen elevada formació.
tecnològic i creació d’ocupació.
[eng] In recent years, there has been a high increase in employment in the services
sector, but in the secondary sector it has been fairly stable, and in the primary
has significantly decreased the number of people employed. It must be said that
there is an important discrepancy in the structure of employment between Spain
and the OECD, because Spain takes longer to adopt tertiarisation and lose
agricultural sector, than the rest of developed economies.
In case of the causes of tertiarisation, there is globalization, which implies an
increase in technology, communications and transport, as well as tourism; the
vertical disintegration and the incorporation of women into the labor market.
Regarding the characteristics of the workers employed in the tertiary sector, we
highlight a high feminization rate, a lower average age and, in general, high
levels of formation, although in the Balearic Islands most tertiary activities do
not require high formation.
It has also been verified that the third law of Kaldor is fulfilled, because
industrial economies are more productive than tertiary ones.
Finally, it must be said that the secondary sector is less productive because it
has more difficulties in absorbing technology; and there is a positive relationship
between technological progress and job creation.
