Aportacions al coneixement del Neogen postorogènic de la cubeta sedimentària de Campos (Mallorca, Illes Balears, Mediterrània occidental).

Abstract

A Neogene outcrop with the stratigraphical relationship between the Pliocene and the Miocene basement located south of Campos (na Serral) is described. At the moment this relationship had been only observed in subsoil studies. The Pliocene sequence shows a regressive type formed by two main sequences that correspond to a littoral and shallow restricted marine at the base that evolve to an aeolian deposition. They overIay by means of an erosion and karstification surface the stromatolithic limestones of the upper Miocene that show special diagenetic characteristics with neomorphisms and dolomitization. At the contact between the units palaeokarst features are present with collapses infilled by plastic muds that overprint part of the sequence.
