[eng] Taking into account, the operational amplifiers are one of the most building blocks
for analog integrated circuits. Op amps became more popular in the 1960s with the
development of the bipolar analog integrated-circuit technology. For now, devices are
growing up so fast since they have been used in a vast of applications such as instrumental
amplifiers, filters, A/D and D/A converters. The design of the operational amplifiers
is a demanding and challenging task due to the matching of the specs with the
final application.
In this project we design an op amp with organic transistors technology. On the
whole, we discuss the performance and specs of the device. The aim of this project is
get to in contact with the microelectronic world, with what all it entails.
The report consists, as we explain before, in the analysis and study of the organic
operational amplifier. Structuring the document, it is organized in different parts.
First, an introduction in the gm/Id methodology that we explain in details later. A second
part, we refer to the theoretical analysis as an important aspect of the design. In
this context, we explain the transistors curves and design specifications, we use Mat-
Lab for the calculations. Once we set up all parameters we proceed to the simulation,
it is explained in the thirst part. In the simulation part we interact with a powerful design
tool, Cadence environment that we use to build schematic circuit and simulate
a whole of test-bench. To study its behavior different analysis are used such as DC
analysis or AC response. Finally we discuss and explain a conclusion of the project.
