[eng] Urban environments, characterized by receiving great mass tourism, have been
transformed and modified over the years, where residents seem to play a secondary role in the
activity of the neighborhood. All this has led to the dilution of the community and urban
identity, as well as the decline of community development processes and social participation of
the inhabitants. In addition, existing risk factors are aggravated, complicating and hindering the
development and social tissue, as well as the emergence of new problems and concerns,
susceptible to intervention.
For this reason, the social intervention that emerges from Community Social Work is essential
and fundamental to encompass a new socio-spatial and political-administrative reality. These
new complex forms of urbanization require comprehensive and participatory interventions,
based on the coordination between the different institutions, professionals and inhabitants of a
neighborhood. It is necessary to develop a model of intercultural and habitable city, which generates collective spaces of participation and encounter, to achieve a social balance. In this
way, it is necessary for all social actors to become aware of the situation, and among all of
them, to improve the conditions of life and well-being of the population living in the territory.
