de estudiantes que acceden a la educación superior, entre ellos la mayoría
mujeres. Además, este aumento de la demanda ha podido ser abastecida
gracias a un aumento en la oferta de educación superior. Aunque la existan más
universidades públicas que privadas, en España éstas no son gratuitas y, por lo
tanto, los hogares tienen que hacer gasto en educación superior. El objetivo de
este trabajo es analizar los determinantes del gasto en educación superior de los
hogares. Para la realización de este análisis se ha utilizado la Encuesta de
Presupuestos Familiares (EPF), elaborado por el Instituto Nacional de
Estadística (INE) para el año 2016. Los resultados muestran que existen
diferencias socioeconómicas y territoriales significativas de gasto en educación
superior.
[eng] During the last three decades, there has been a considered increase in the
number of students accessing higher education, among them the majority of
women. In addition, this increase in demand has been able to be supplied thanks
to an increase in the supply of higher education. Although there are more public
universities than private ones, these aren’t free in Spain and, therefore,
households have to spend on higher education. The objective of this paper is to
analyze the determinants of spending on higher education in households. To
carry out this analysis, the Family Budget Survey (EPF), prepared by the National
Institute of Statistics (INE) for the year 2016 has been used. The results show
that there are significant socio-economic and territorial differences in spending
on higher education.
