[eng] This work is part of the field of study of international accounting, specifically, in relation
to the comparison of accounting systems in terms of leases.
The entry into force of the International Financial Reporting Standard number 16, will
bring with it important changes in the accounting treatment of lease operations from the
perspective of the lessee, and therefore, in the financial information shown by the
companies that adopt it.
The goals of the work consist in making a conceptual exposition of the different
accounting rules referring to lease operations that currently coexist in Spain, as well as
analyzing the main differences and similarities between them, to later develop a
theoretical-practical assumption of first application of IFRS 16. Through the resolution of
the case study it is intended to show the complexity involved in the accounting transition
to international standards, and above all, to analyze and conclude about the possible
consequences and impacts on financial information, and on another nature, in
companies.
