[eng] Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is characterized by a deterioration of communication and social interaction, and by restrictive and repetitive behavior patterns, interests or activities, therefore, the objective of any type of treatment should favor adaptation to their living environment and community. Through this work I intend to provide a broader vision of what ASD is and of a type of alternative therapies, known as Animal Assisted Therapies (AAT), which are in continuous evolution and, despite not being the most widely used, they have great benefits as a treatment for these disorders, they are applicable to a wide variety of users and in different areas such as leisure, education and psychology. Likewise, through this program we will be able to see the evolution of users with ASD as a result of the intervention with AAT, in this case with dogs, thanks to the monitoring carried out with the selected evaluation tools (Social Communication Questionnaire (SCQ), Interview for the Diagnosis of Revised Autism (ADI-R) and the Evaluation Questionnaire of the effectiveness of animal assisted therapy with autistic children). In this way, we will also provide an increase in scientific evidence on the benefits of this type of intervention in this population.
