[eng] Adoption is a measure that allows to protect children who are in situations of helplessness. Often, when minors find themselves in one of these situations, they are automatically put in foster care, thus breaking or disabling the affective bond with their mother figures. This absence of affective bond can have repercussions when creating new bonds with future attachment figures. For this reason, it is important that these figures show sensitivity towards them, that they provide them with affection, attention and trust, and that they are at their disposal when they need it. Thus, even though there are other variables, they will be able to establish a secure bond and develop their personal identity throughout life without problems. In the present work, five adoptees have been interviewed, four of them internationally adopted and one nationally. The objective is to study their affective-emotional experiences, how they have lived with the fact of being adopted, and if this situation has intervened in the formation of the affective bond with their family or in the development of their personal identity. The results show that, in general, there have been no difficulties both in creating a bond of trust with parents or other close relatives, as in developing their identity. Although, it is true that each person interprets the issue of adoption very differently, due to various aspects such as age of adoption, education, trust, personality and maturity. This study gives a voice to adopted people to increase awareness on how they coexist with the fact of being adopted.
