Due to its great versatility and metabolic plasticity, P. aeruginosa is capable to growing and colonizing many environments, introducing soils, hospital settings or recreational waters, among others. One of the biggest problems is the phenomenon of resistance to antimicrobial agents that this bacterium has developed in recent years, which could be linked to resistance to disinfectant substances, although this relationship has not been fully demonstrated and needs to be studied thoroughly. In this way, the objective of this work is to analyze the resistance of P. aeruginosa to the disinfectants most used in recreational waters, as well as the study of the current state of knowledge on research related to resistance to disinfectants, methodologies used and its application to the study of the sensitivity of P. aeruginosa isolates in swimming pool water samples.
