[eng] Anxiety disorders in adolescent population are highly prevalent. It has been shown that the problematic use of social networks and exposure to the stereotypes found in them, are precipitating factors of anxiety symptoms. In the following study it has been wanted to deepen research on the relationship between anxiety problems and problematic use of social media as well as exposure to stereotypes. Therefore, 62 students (M = 13.5, SD = 1,291) from 1st and 2nd of E.S.O of the IES Berenguer d’Anoia high school of Inca were evaluated. Three questionnaires were administered, first the State-Trait Anxiety Questionnaire (STAIC), then the Internet-Related Experiences Questionnaire (CERI) and finally a survey conducted by the study Status Of Mind: Social media and Young people's mental Health and wellbeing. State and trait anxiety will be positively related to problematic use of social media (interpersonal and intrapersonal conflicts). While stereotypes only positively correlate state anxiety, gender does not seem to play an important role in most of the correlations set out. The only one that we have found a relationship with it is trait anxiety, however, very different results won’t be obtained from those obtained without the control variable. In conclusion, problematic use of social media and stereotypes cause anxiety in adolescents. The possibility of encouraging safe use of social networks by the school through workshops, talks, lessons, etc. is being considered. It is also proposed to work with the demystification of the stereotypes that predominate in it.
