[eng] The strandings of Caretta caretta in Islas Baleares coasts have been documented during the period 1993-2020. In all the cases date, location, biometry and cause of stranded were recorded. During these years there have been 1034 strandings, the majority of them of immature turtles: subadults (n = 626), juveniles (n = 211), and a minority of adults (n = 46). The island of Mallorca registered the most of the strandings, and inside the island of Mallorca the area between Faro de ses Salines and Cap des Llebeig (area E). The majority of the strandings of C. caretta have been documented during Summer and Autumn. In these months the maritime traffic, the tourism and the fishing effort increase. There is an increment in the total strandings per year, with the maximum cases registered in 2020 (n = 80). The most common cause of stranding during 1993-2020 was hook although in recent years (2017-2020), the strandings caused by hook are decreasing (n = 5). This is because of the reduction since 2014 of the fleet specialized in fishing by hook. The Palma Aquarium Conservation Centre in association with the University de las Islas Baleares provided us 65 right C. caretta flippers of dead or amputated individuals. The age of the individuals were estimated by skeletochronology from humeri sections (n = 49). This study used the non linear growth model of Von Bertalanffy to find the ages of loggerhead turtles from their curved carapace length. The age was estimated in 883 individuals, with ages from 3 to 26 years (mean = 14,9 , SD = 3,4). Finally, the age classes were analyzed with the parameters: months, years, area of location and cause of stranding trying to find the most important threat for each age class.
