[eng] Temporomandibular joint dysfunction syndrome (TMDS) is a group of symptoms including orofacial pain and functional limitation of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Its etiology is difficult to determine and is linked to psychosocial factors. The objective of this review is to evaluate the physiotherapy treatment to address TMDS aggravated by stressful situations, being secondary to this, which therapies are most effective and how the pandemic has contributed to TMDS as a stressor. For this reason, a search was carried out in EBSCOhost, Pubmed and PEDro, through which 94 results were obtained, which after being screened and passing inclusion and exclusion criteria were reduced to the 20 that were used to carry out this work. The results mainly include clinical trials and cross-sectional observational studies. They analyze the relationship between stress and anxiety levels with the cause or exacerbation of TMDS symptoms, physiotherapy treatment to address them, and the relationship of the pandemic with stress and anxiety as currently aggravating TMDS. The review goes through a discussion process in which the results of the different authors are compared until reaching the following conclusions: TMDS is closely linked to levels of stress and anxiety, physiotherapy treatment is a good option for its approach, but more publications are needed to determine which therapies are better. Finally, COVID-19 seems to influence TMDS, but more research is needed
