[eng] The purpose of this study was to carry out an investigation to find out if the
resources present in the Balearic Islands for the care of minors who are victims
of gender violence are sufficient and adequate for the comprehensive
intervention that the minor needs and to make visible if they are necessary. For
this, a qualitative and quantitative methodology was used through the Delphi
Panel technique where two questionnaires were made that were provided to
different professionals in the social field.
Finally, it was evidenced that for the existing demand there is a clear lack
of resources, although the existing ones are adequate, they do not provide
enough to meet all the children. On the other hand, it was concluded that
intervening with the mother is not related to indirectly intervening with the minor
and in this way it is no longer necessary to intervene with the minor, but rather
that the minor requires comprehensive care for a correct development. In
addition, it was mentioned that the Law introduces improvements considering
the minor as a victim of gender violence but that in practice there are still
deficiencies, such as: the lack of specific training, personnel, primary prevention,
legal barriers, awareness and the little time available to carry out comprehensive
interventions with minors.
However, there has been a change in the mentality of professionals and
the population since over the years the idea that minors are indirect victims for
what they really are has been transformed: direct victims of this violence,
considering them victims of gender violence.
