The main results that we obtained were several deficiencies in the care of the relatives, both in the needs of the relatives, and in the information process where we see that the information is scarce and on many occasions it is not understood. Regarding decision-making, family members describe great uncertainty and immense responsibility because sometimes they do not know what the patients would have wanted. And finally regardingemotional impact on family members, we see that there is a large number of psychological disorders due to the admission of a loved one to the ICU and a great lack of understanding and skills on the part of professionals about the situation, causing there is no adequate care and quality with family members.
Conclusions: It is really important to care for the family when they have a loved one in a state cr í tico in the intensive care unit because the unexpected income and ignorance of the environment and what will happen already in itself create a great emotional impact affecting both your physical and mental health. That is why it is important to continue studying this issue in order to ensure that in the near future the family member is included as another member in the care and care of the care units, causing greater satisfaction of care in the family members.
A través de los términos ICU or intensive care, familiy, infromation, desicin making, needs assessment, nursing support, bioethics, family members experience, surrogate family, feeling of the family, futility, limitation of life support surrogate family, withholding and withdrawald.
