Las experiencias de los hermanos de niños con necesidad de atención paliativa y su abordaje desde Enfermería.

[spa] Resumen: Los hermanos de los niños con necesidad de atención paliativa refieren gran sufrimiento durante la enfermedad y tras la muerte de su hermano enfermo y, a pesar de suponer una parte importante en el vínculo con el paciente pediátrico, son conocidos como los grandes olvidados y los estudios al respecto así lo reflejan. Objetivo: El presente trabajo pretende describir las vivencias/experiencias de los hermanos de pacientes en cuidados paliativos pediátricos destapando sus emociones y sentimientos, entendiendo su entorno y describiendo el apoyo recibido por parte de los profesionales y su adaptación a lo largo del tiempo. Estrategia de búsqueda: Para la realización de esta revisión bibliográfica se ha llevado a cabo una búsqueda en diferentes bases de datos (EBSCOhost, PubMed y Cochrane) y una búsqueda dirigida, de la que finalmente se han obtenido 19 artículos que cumplen con los criterios de inclusión. Discusión: La falta de estudios relacionados con el fenómeno ha sido evidente. A pesar de esta limitación, se ha podido establecer una visión general de las vivencias de los hermanos respondiendo a los cuatro objetivos específicos del estudio: emociones, entorno, apoyo y adaptación de los hermanos. Más estudios que incluyan su voz propia, con un mayor número de participantes, con mayor distribución geográfica, y/o un mayor número de estudios cuantitativos que investiguen variables como la edad, el sexo o las características familiares deberían llevarse a cabo.

[eng] Abstract: The siblings of children in need of palliative care report great suffering during the illness and after the death of their sick sibling and, despite being an important part of the bond with the paediatric patient, they are known as the forgotten ones and the studies reflect it. Objective: This study aims to describe the experiences of siblings of patients in paediatric palliative care, uncovering their emotions and feelings, understanding their environment, describing the support received from professionals and their adaptation over time. Search strategy: To do this literature review, a search was carried out in different databases (EBSCOhost, PubMed and Cochrane) and a targeted search. Finally, 19 articles have been obtained and met the inclusion criteria. Discussion: The lack of studies has been evident. Despite this limitation, it has been possible to establish an overview of the siblings' experiences in response to the four specific objectives of the study: emotions, environment, support, and adaptation of the siblings. More studies including their own voice, with a larger number of participants, with a wider geographical distribution, and/or a larger number of quantitative studies investigating variables such as age, gender or family characteristics should be done
