Turisme en temps de COVID-19: una anàlisi de la resilència del model turístic mallorquí

Abstract

[cat] En aquest treball intentarem donar resposta a una pregunta molt important a l’actualitat socioeconòmica de Mallorca i dels seus habitants: Ha estat capaç el model turístic actual de suportar la crisi provocada per la Covid- 19 i seria capaç de tornar-ho a fer? O és urgent i necessari un canvi de cara a un turisme més sostenible, alternatiu i desestacionalitzar per assegurar un futur millor per a tots? Farem un estudi de les dades econòmiques i ocupacionals dels darrers anys per tal de veure l’evolució de la relació turisme-economia fins arribar a l’actualitat, amb l’objectiu de veure l’impacte real que ha tingut la crisi de la Covid-19 sobre el turisme i, per tant, sobre l’economia empresarial i familiar mallorquina. Així mateix, es relacionaran aquestes dades amb els possibles efectes mediambientals que provoca el model turístic actual i es proposaran possibles alternatives o solucions per tal d’afavorir a un futur turisme més sostenible per tots. Per acabar, farem una breu introducció a la nova Llei Turística d’aquest any 2022, fent també una reflexió sobre si pot ser una passa més cap a una millora en la qualitat del turisme que tenim a les illes, tant per als turistes com per als residents.

[eng] In this project we will try to answer a very important question about the current socioeconomic situation of Mallorca and its people: Has the current touristic model been able to bear the crisis caused by the Covid- 19 and would it be able to do it again? Or is it urgent and necessary a change to ensure a better future for everyone? We will study economic and occupational data of the last years in order to see the evolution of the tourism-economy relationship until today, with the objective of seeing the real impact that the Covid-19 crisis has had on tourism and, therefore, over the Mallorcan economy and its society. Moreover, we are going to relate this data with the possible environmental effects that the current touristic model causes, and we will propose possible alternatives or solutions in order to favor a future more sustainable tourism for all of us. Lastly, we will make a brief introduction to the new tourism law of this year 2022, also reflecting on whether it could be a good step towards an improvement in the quality of tourism, not only for tourists but for locals as well.
