[eng] Autism Spectrum Disorder has a prevalence of 1% in the child population, a high percentage
that has led to the development of multiple studies on its detection, assessment and intervention.
This literature review aims to demonstrate through scientific evidence the deficit in Theory of Mind
skills in students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as the need for early intervention
with these students.
A total of 15 studies were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria and
analyzed in detail, in order to draw conclusions that would respond to the objectives: to demonstrate
the deficit in Theory of Mind in students with ASD and to demonstrate the efficacy and benefit of
receiving early care at the earliest ages.
After the analysis of the different studies, it has been possible to establish the relationship
between Theory of Mind and ASD students, being this skill deficient and causing difficulties in
communication and social relationships. Another aspect analyzed has been the need to carry out an
early intervention with ASD students and to demonstrate the benefit that this entails for both the
students and their families.
