El mito de El Rapto de Europa

Abstract

[spa] Este trabajo consiste principalmente en el estudio iconográfico del mito de El Rapto de Europa, tema mitológico configurado por diferentes obras artísticas que veremos a través de la Antigüedad Clásica, el período Moderno y el Contemporáneo. Se pretende determinar la originalidad de las obras seleccionadas, y verificar si su vertiente iconográfica se ajusta a los modelos habituales de su época. También se analiza si las fuentes literarias clásicas concuerdan con las repesentaciones de El Rapto de Europa

[eng] This essay is based on the study iconographic of the myth of The Rape of Europa, a mythological theme configured by different artistic works that we will see through Classical Antiquity and the Modern and Contemporary periods. The aim is to determine the originality of the selected pieces and to verify if their iconographic appearance is adjusted to other art works of the same period. The classical literary sources corresponding to the representations of The Rape of Europa are also analyzed.
