no exámenes.
[eng] In humans there are cyclical variations in physiological functions known as biological rhythms. These
are influenced by the action of the components of the circadian system: external synchronizers or
zeitgebers, suprachiasmatic nuclei and physiological and behavioral responses. With the passage of
time, a neuronal degenerative change can be evidenced in the suprachiasmatic nuclei due to aging. If
there is also a dysfunction of the external synchronizers, this can lead to alterations in circadian
rhythms. The sleep-wake rhythm is one of the most affected rhythms and can directly affect the
quality of sleep. The objective of this study is to analyze the chronobiological parameters of the
sleep-wake rhythm, perceived anxiety and sleep quality in periods without and with exams in a
school population for classrooms with different light intensity. This is a cross-sectional observational
study with 39 secondary school students (12-16 years old), from the Sant Josep Obrer II school in
Palma, who attended the school alternatively due to the situation of blended attendance
implemented due to the health situation due to the COVID-19. Circadian parameters of peripheral
temperature rhythms and motor activity were analyzed; and intensity to light exposure with the
Kronowise KW6 device. In addition, state and trait anxiety was analyzed using the State Anxiety-Trait
Anxiety Self-Assessment Questionnaire for Children (STAIC). And also, the quality of sleep through
the Oviedo Sleep Questionnaire (COS) and the Software Actiwatch Sleep Analysis 2001. It concludes
that during the examination period there are better results in the circadian parameters of the
peripheral temperature rhythm than in the period without examinations. There are also significant
differences in state anxiety during the examination period compared to the period of no
examinations. Finally, it is observed that the students have a better quality of sleep in the exam
period compared to the period without exams. This fact may be either due to the influence of the
routine or discipline imposed by the parents or to or to the student's own discipline by the proximity
of an exam or an evaluative test.
