Lexical Competence in New Digital Environments: The Metaverse and Its Application to Tourism Science

Abstract

[eng] This work is based, on the one hand, on the experience with the metaverse carried outin an exhibition that took place at the Matadero Contemporary Creation Center in Madrid (09.22.2022–January 29, 2023), titled Metaverses, Realities in transition (see Nave O. Centro de creación contemporánea, Madrid 22 de septiembre del 2022 al 29 de enero de 2023). Exploring new digital territories through art, and, on the other hand, we have based ourselves on the report The metaverse and the soul: Journey to the next challenge of tourism. Both works have been fundamental to developing the glossary around the metaverse and its application to the science of tourism.
