[eng] This paper examines the perpetuation of patriarchal legitimation through the current paradigm of representation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). By analysing the MCU's portrayal of the traditional model of masculinity and questioning the authenticity of recent progressive changes, this study explores the interplay between intentionality and monetary interests. Key areas of this paper include the contextual background of hegemonic masculinity and patriarchy, Marvel Studios' apparent intentions of challenging traditional structures, and an illustrating analysis of one of the latest releases of the MCU, Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). Through this research, key themes of gender representation, structural change, and the implications for the entertainment industry will be explored.
