[spa] El Sluggish Cognitive Tempo (SCT) es una dimensión psicológica tradicionalmente relacionada con el TDAH pero que en los últimos tiempos se ha mostrado con una capacidad propia de influencia sobre la conducta y rendimiento del niño. Los presentes objetivos del trabajo son determinar hasta qué punto la presencia de altas puntuaciones en SCT tiene n un efecto significativamente diferente en los niños con sintomatología tendente a TDAH y niños sin esta sintomatología ; así como determinar hasta qué punto grupos con baja, media y alta puntuación en SCT difieren en medidas internalizadas, externalizadas, interacción social y rendimiento académico, controlando el efecto de la medida de la escala de Inatención. La muestra de esta investigación está compuesta por u n total de 561 alumnos de tercero de primaria, que fueron evaluados por padres, madres y maestros. Los resultados en relación al primer objetivo son diferentes para padres y maestros: para los padres no hay excesivas diferencias entre niños con síntomas TDAH y controles en el grup o con altas puntuaciones en SCT, en cambio para los maestros la presencia de TDAH supone muchos más problemas. En relación al segundo objetivo, presentar altas puntuaciones en SCT, aún controlando inatención, supone más problemas de conducta y de rendimiento, especialmente para los maestros, aunque también para los padres. En general se puede concluir que la dimensión SCT, tanto de forma conjunta con síntomas de TDAH, como por sí misma, es capaz de relacionarse con más problemas de conducta y de rendimiento en los niños. |

[eng] Sluggish Cognitive Tempo (SCT) is a psychological dimension traditionally associated with ADHD but nowadays it has shown to have its own behavioural and performance influences. The aim of the study is to determine to whether the presence of high scores SCT has a significantly different effect on ADHD children and children without these symptoms; just like determine how low, medium and high score SCT groups measures differ between internalized, externalized, social interaction and academic performance, while we control the Inattention scale measure. The sample of this research is made up by a total of 561 third grade students, which were assessed by parents and teachers. Parents and teachers have shown different results regarding the first objective: Parents don’t consider that exist excessive differences between ADHD children and control

group in high SCT scores group, however the teachers reckon that the presence of ADHD involves more problems. Regarding to the second objective, those children who have submit high SCT scores, even controlling inattention, will provoke more behavioural and performance problems, especially to teachers, but even to parents. In conclusion SCT dimension, is related with more behavioural and performance children problems, even if it is joined with ADHD symptoms or not. |
