Modelización de los determinantes del gasto en turismo de los hogares españoles

[spa] En este trabajo se analiza por una parte la probabilidad que las familias españolas vayan de vacaciones y por otra, los determinantes del gasto que éstos realizan en el lugar de destino. Para tal fin, se ha utilizado el modelo Heckman estimado mediante el software estadístico gretl con datos de la Encuesta Continua de Presupuestos familiares del año 2005. Los resultados indican que la composición de la familia (hijos), la situación laboral del hogar, la situación económica familiar a final de mes y el periodo del año son variables determinantes en la decisión de ir de vacaciones. Por otra parte, el tipo de contrato, el nivel de estudios y la capacidad de ahorro del hogar son aspectos importantes a la hora de decidir el nivel de gasto en el lugar de destino.

[eng] In this paper it has been analyzed the probability of the Spanish families to go on holidays and the determiners of the expenditure that families spend in their destination. For this purpose, it has been used the Heckman model estimated by the statistical software Gretl based on the information from the 2005 Spanish Household Constant Budget Survey. The results indicate that the composition of the family (children), the labor situation of the household, the economic family situation at the end of the month and the period of the year are determining variables in the decision to go on holiday. On the other hand, the type of contract, the level of studies and the saving capacity of the family are important aspects when deciding the level of expenditure in their destination.
