Adem´as, este campo
orden. |

Nowadays, in the world of Physics, the study of Gravitational Waves, predicted by Dr.
Albert Einstein 100 years ago, has gained importance. In addition, this area has grown in
interest because in the past 14th of September 2015 the first detection of a Gravitational
Wave was done.
In this Final Degree Work, at first, it has made a summary about what are Gravitational
Waves and their characteristics. Furthermore, it has also gathered information
about the kind of detectors of them and what kind of waves can be detected. On these detectors,
it has made emphasis on the ground detectors. About what kind of wave the study
has been performed, it is about the Compact Binary Systems through a post-Newtonian
development. On the other hand, in terms of the calculation, at first, it has done a study
about the signal to noise ratio, and the optimal detection distance, because it is useful to
know what total masses are the best to applicate the studies. Secondly, it has studied the
error that can be made in the determination of the parameters of a gravitational wave
when is detected, due to there are several factors that lead to a ground detector have uncertainties.
Finally, it has computed the Overlap of different compact binary systems, i.e.
the comparison between two waves. Specifically, it has compared the effect of treating a
wave to a specific post-Newtonian development with one of lower order. |
