Referente a
frecuente.
[eng] Objective: The main purpose is to determine which drug dispensing systems reduce more
medication errors in hospitals.
Method: A literature review has been done in the following databases: IBECS, IME, CINHAL and
MEDLINE, and a thematic analysis with the content of the selected articles.
Results: 20 articles have been identified and published in science magazines which were about the
main objetive. After assesing what the articles were about, we divided the content of the discussion
in 6 different thematic sections: Types of dispensing systems, advantatges and disadvantatges of
differents types of dispensing systems, errors related with dispensing systems and the quality care
impact.
Conclusion: The automated unit dose dispensing is the system type which produces less errors, in
comparision to the ground stock. However, it is imposible to delate all medications errors with this
type of system. Moreover, this system allows to reduce dispensing time and it is the most efficient
system. Talking about the reasons which produces more medications errors, it has been determined that stock break is the most frequent.
