Gran culpa de este éxito es el buen clima que posee durante todo el año y la variedad de rutas que transcurren las islas. Frente a la gran demanda, los hoteles han tenido que cambiar y adaptar sus infraestructuras, muchos de ellos optando por la especialización. Los datos estadísticos confirman el potencial cicloturístico, ya que de cada año los cicloturistas aumentan y el impacto económico es mayor. Referente a la competición, Mallorca cuenta con una de las mejores pruebas a nivel nacional y muy conocida internacionalmente.
