Proyecto de ruta turístico-cultural: Palma, ciudad conventual

Abstract

[spa] El turismo cultural surge como una alternativa menos nociva al turismo de sol y playa predominante en Mallorca. En concreto, las rutas turístico-culturales adquieren cada vez más demanda y son atrayentes para un tipo de turista de alto poder adquisitivo y que se quiere comprometer con la conservación del patrimonio y el medio ambiente en general. De esta manera, mediante este trabajo, se propone una ruta turístico-cultural por algunos de los conventos femeninos de clausura de Palma con el principal objetivo de reconocer su valor social, arquitectónico y artístico, conocer su historia y así obtener los recursos necesarios para su conservación. Además, el turismo cultural puede resultar beneficioso tanto económicamente como medioambientalmente no sólo para la ciudad de Palma, sino para toda la isla en general. A continuación, también veremos que las leyes desamortizadoras dañaron la “ciudad conventual” que llegó a ser y, aún es, Palma. Por ello, y porque los conventos llegaron a tener gran influencia en muchos aspectos de nuestra sociedad y porque son aún un vivo ejemplo de la historia de Mallorca, consideramos que es necesario, a través de este trabajo, mostrar su importancia y su gran valor hoy en día.

[eng] Cultural tourism emerges as a less harmful alternative to tourism of “sun and beach” predominant in Mallorca. In particular, the cultural tourism routes acquire even more demand and are appealing for a high net-worth tourist type which wants to commit to the conservation of the heritage and the environment in general. In this way, through this work, it is proposed a cultural tourism route through some of the female convents of closure of Palma with the objective of recognizing its social, architectural and artistic value, learn about its history and thus obtain the resources needed for its conservation. In addition, cultural tourism can be beneficial both economically and environmentally not only for the city of Palma, but for the island as a whole. Then, we will also see that the disentailment laws damaged the "convent city" which became, and still is, Palma. For this reason, and because the monasteries came to have great influence on many aspects of our society and because they are still a living example of Mallorca’s history, we believe that it is necessary, through this work, to show its importance and its value today.
