Los problemas de movilidad y tráfico en las Islas Baleares: posibles soluciones basadas en la economia colaborativa

[spa] El presente trabajo tiene como objeto buscar soluciones, dentro de los modelos de negocio basados en el consumo colaborativo, que ayuden a reducir los problemas causados por el excesivo número de vehículos en circulación en las Islas Baleares y sus impactos a nivel económico, social y medioambiental. En primer lugar se exponen los problemas de movilidad y tráfico que se sufren en España, y en concreto en las Islas Baleares, sobretodo en época estival, y se analizan sus causas y los hábitos de uso del vehículo que realizan tanto residentes como turistas. Se analizan también los agentes tradicionales del transporte de viajeros por carretera (taxis, autobuses) y las causas de que en muchas ocasiones no supongan una alternativa al vehículo privado propio o alquilado. Finalmente, se aborda el concepto de economía colaborativa y se analizan en profundidad las diferentes alternativas de transporte colaborativo, todas ellas ya operando con éxito en otros mercados, con el objetivo final de encontrar cuál de ellas, o que combinación de las mismas, podría ser aplicable en las Islas Baleares como alternativa al uso del vehículo privado, y los impactos beneficiosos que esta implantación supondría de cara a reducir los problemas de tráfico explicados anteriormente.

[eng] The aim of this Project is to find, within the existing business models based on shared economy, solutions which could be implemented in the Balearic Islands to help reducing the wasteful number of vehicles on the road and the many economic, social and environmental impacts. In first place, the traffic problems suffered in Spain, and in more detail in Balearic Islands due to its touristic season are explained, together with an analysis of their causes and the usage habits of the car, both residents and tourists, actually do. Also factors impeding traditional transport market agents (as taxis or buses) to offer a solution which could solve this problems are analyzed. Finally the concept of “shared economy” is exposed and a deep analysis of many different sharing economy transport business models, all of them already succesfully operating in different markets, is done, with the purpose of find which one (or which combination of them) could be implemented in the Balearic Islands offering a real alternative to private car use (either owned or rented) helping to reduce traffic and mobility issues.
