[eng] In this master’s thesis, a didactic proposal has been designed in order to tackle
a rising issue in Spain: gender-based violence amongst adolescents. To get to
that stage, this essay has different objectives. The first one, and probably most
important, is to work on a proposal where there is room to work on linguistic
content while implementing a communicative approach, aiming to boost students’
communicative skills where orality becomes the core skill to be worked on. This
will be done by choosing activities where students can talk about topics of their
interest while working on the linguistic content. The second one, is to serve as a
guide for other language subjects to also implement coeducation in their
classroom, as this proposal is highly versatile and flexible, while at the same time
working on transversal (cross-curricular) elements. This will be done by choosing
activities that can work on different content that is not necessarily related to the
English classroom, such as the presence of women in the scientific field. These
two objectives will then serve as the base of the proposal, whose main objective
is to create activities that serve as a guide to raise awareness on how genderbased violence is rooted in our society and how it is legitimized through
patriarchy. Therefore, this dissertation focusses on creating a proposal that is
able to apply the legalities imposed by the different laws of education, while also
taking into account those laws produced at a statal and regional level that aim to
promote equality between men and women.
