aprendizaje cooperativo y gamificado.
[eng] The acquisition of reading competence is an inescapable skill of teaching at all
stages of education and, therefore, it is the responsibility of both educational
institutions and teachers to ensure its consolidation. However, our students do not
always show competent readers at the end of their studies. This seems to be due
to the false belief that reading is learned in the stages of primary education,
assuming ESO students have the necessary strategies to develop a deep reading
that promotes critical thinking, the expansion of knowledge and cognitive
development. Both cognitive psychology and neuroscience have given special
relevance to research that establishes the relationships between executive
functions and reading comprehension. Images help the understanding of texts.
The concern for the improvement of reading at its different levels and the
achievement of curricular educational objectives must have its incipient
knowledge, of the teacher himself, of the reading process and of the operations
that make it up. In this sense, a research has been developed with a sample of
participants of students of 3º of ESO that establishes the correlations between
reading comprehension and executive functions in relation to the use of paratexts
of iconographic content. According to the results obtained, a guided reading
educational proposal is proposed with stimulation of executive functioning
throughout the reading process, which will have as an umbrella the use of iconic
paratext as a crucial facilitator for textual understanding. First, it will be clarified
what the reading process consists of, with its various stages; secondly, the
procedure for stimulating executive functions will be explained and, finally, a
series of activities will be presented by way of example. The methodological
aspect is channeled through cooperative and gamified learning.
