Efecto antitumoral del fármaco Temozolomida en combinación con el compuesto ácido 2-hidroxi-cis-9-octadecenoico

Abstract

[spa] En la carrera por curar el glioma que se está llevando a cabo se están buscando alternativas al tratamiento estándar actual, radioterapia junto con temozolomida (TMZ) que, únicamente, aumenta en 2 meses la esperanza de vida de los pacientes. En este trabajo se presentan los resultados de combinar TMZ con el ácido 2-hidroxi-cis-9-octadecenoico (2OHOA), molécula con capacidad antitumoral que en los últimos años está demostrando una alta eficacia, con el objetivo de obtener mejores tratamientos contra el glioma. Estos resultados demuestran que la combinación de ambas moléculas mejora notablemente la eficacia de los tratamientos, sin conllevar una alta agresividad para la salud de los ratones en los que se han aplicado los tratamientos.

[eng] In the race going on to cure the glioma nowadays there is a search for alternatives to the current standard treatment, radiotherapy with temozolomide (TMZ), which only increases life expectancy in 2 months. In this study are presented the results of combining TMZ with 2-hydroxi-cis-9-octadenoic acid (2OHOA), a molecule with antitumor effect that in the last years is showing a high efficacy, with the objective of obtaining better treatments against glioma. These results show that the combination of both molecules improves treatments efficacy, keeping a low aggressiveness to the health of those mice in which treatments were applied.
