Proceso de socialización en el colectivo transexual

Abstract

[spa]Actualmente, la transexualidad es una temática que, progresivamente, va teniendo una mayor visibilidad en la sociedad y del cual, tanto ciudadanía como gobernantes, van siendo más conscientes de las necesidades y problemas que presentan este colectivo. Por este motivo, en el presente estudio, se ha realizado una investigación, de carácter cualitativa, cuyo objetivo era estudiar el proceso de socialización en estas personas, a través de entrevistas semi-estructuradas, analizando aspectos tan diversos como pueden ser las partes del cuerpo con las que menos se sentían identificadas sus aficiones en la infancia, su integración durante la etapa escolar, su relación con las demás personas…Para ello, se ha contado con la participación de la asociación “Ben Amics”, organización que lucha por los derechos de estas personas, además de ofrecerles apoyo y ayuda especializada; y, en concreto, de cinco de sus miembros y la psicóloga del centro. Las conclusiones principales que se han podido obtener son, entre otras, corroborar el gran impacto, tanto psicológico como social, que causa esta condición; la fuerte presencia del modelo binario “sistema sexo/género” aún en la sociedad; y la necesidad de cambio social para aliviarles de sufrimiento como, podría ser, con la búsqueda de un “tercer género”.

[eng]Nowadays, transsexuality is a topic that is gradually having a greater visibility in society, where both citizens and governments are becoming more aware of the needs and problems presented by this group. For this reason, in this present study, an investigation and research has been conducted in a qualitative nature, whose objective was to study the process of socialization within this group of people, through semi-structured interviews, analyzing diverse aspects such as parts of the body which they feel less identified with, their childhood hobbies and interests, their integration during their school years, their relationship with others in general... To be able to do this they relied on the participation of the association "Ben Amics" an organization which fights for the rights of these people, while at the same time offers them support and specialized help; specifically with five of its members and the psychologist of the center. The principal conclusions that have been obtained are, among others, to confirm the great impact both psychologically and socially that are caused by this condition; the strong presence of the binary model "sex/gender system" which remains in society; and the need for social change to relieve them from such suffering, as could be the case, in a search for a "third gender".
