Influencia del Indice de Masa Corporal materno en el inicio y finalización del parto

[spa] La gestación es un momento de la vida de la mujer, donde requiere unas necesidades especiales, y tanto un déficit como exceso de determinados nutrientes pueden influir de forma significativa en su embarazo, parto y recién nacido. La obesidad es una enfermedad que afecta a un gran número de personas a nivel mundial. Consiste en un exceso de grasa corporal, debido a un desequilibrio entre la ingesta y el gasto energético, que conlleva numerosas consecuencias negativas para la persona en los distintos ámbitos y momentos de su vida, entre ellos la gestación. Durante la gestación las necesidades energéticas se ven modificadas al alza, pero tanto el sobrepeso como la obesidad supone la aparición de patologías en el bebe y en la madre. La hipótesis de nuestro estudio de casos y controles, es que las mujeres con obesidad y sobrepeso al inicio de la gestación, tienen un incremento de las dificultades tanto en el inicio como finalización del parto. El estudio incluye a mujeres que parieron en el Servicio de Ginecología y Obstetricia del Hospital General Universitario Santa Lucía de Cartagena entre el 1 de Febrero de 2016 y el 30 de Junio de 2017, clasificándolas según su IMC al inicio de la gestación (4 grupos según IMC), y analizando tanto el inicio del parto como su finalización en cada uno de los grupos.

Obesity is a disease that affects a large number of people worldwide. It consists of an excess of body fat, due to an imbalance between ingestion and energy expenditure, which leads to numerous negative consequences for the person in the different areas and moments of his life, including gestation. During gestation the energetic needs are modified upwards, but both the overweight and the obesity supposes the appearance of pathologies in the baby and in the mother. The hypothesis of our case-control study is that women with obesity and overweight at the onset of gestation have an increase in difficulties both at the onset and at the end of labor. The study included women who gave birth at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Service of the General University Hospital of Santa Lucía in Cartagena between February 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017, according to their BMI at the beginning of gestation (4 groups according to BMI), and analyzing both the onset of labor and its completion in each of the groups.
