dc.description.abstract [eng] Tourism industry in Mallorca has been one of the main pillars of the Balearic Islands' economy, given the fact that the tourism market depends mainly on the destination related attributes (Sun and Sand destination). It is important for market consistency to understand the tourist expenditure patterns in terms of tourist motivations. The research conceptual framework and hypothesis constructed based on previous theoretical and empirical studies and research question was: Does the tourist expenditure in Mallorca influenced more by Push or Pull factors?. Self-administered questionnaire was conducted at the departure terminal of Palma de Mallorca airport, in order to collect the primary data required in this study. In this paper, tourist push and pull motivation factors in respect of destination choice, were estimated by OLS regression analysis, as an explanatory variables of the tourist expenditure. The results display the profile of visitors to the island, in terms of socio-demographic characteristics. Likewise, the findings illustrate that push and pull travel motivation factors have an impact on tourist expenditure level. ca
