La didàctica de les minories: el passat jueu de Mallorca i la qüestió xueta

Abstract

[cat] El present treball té l’objectiu de demostrar les possibilitats que ofereix la temàtica xueta per ser aplicada didàcticament. Així mateix, considerem una necessitat que als currículums escolars de les Illes Balears, s’integri una qüestió tan pròpia i, alhora, tan ignominiosa de la Història de Mallorca. En l’actual situació de transició cap a un canvi de model educatiu, s’han suprimit matèries optatives com Història de les Illes Balears. Així doncs, amb el tema que proposem intentem adaptar als continguts curriculars una matèria en retrocés com és el coneixement de la història de la nostra comunitat. Generalment, als professors de ciències socials se’ns demana que formem futurs ciutadans que tinguin capacitat crítica i reflexiva. L’estigma xueta avui dia es troba molt apaivagat, però aquesta suavització no ha estat fruit de l’autocrítica, sinó del desconeixement. Així doncs, pareix que ha arribat el moment de començar a explicar als nostres joves l’odi que s’ha vessat sobre un sector de la població mallorquina durant segles pel simple fet de portar un cognom dins d’una sèrie de quinze, perquè ells mateixos siguin capaços de rebutjar aquesta actitud i tinguin consciència de què una exclusió similar no pot tornar a succeir.

[eng] This paper aims to show the chances that chueta topic offers to be applied didactically. Also, we consider that it’s necessary to include a topic so indigenous and, at the same time, so ignominious of the History of Mallorca in Balearic school curriculum. In this exercise, we try to acapt this forgotten subject, which embraces the knowledgement of the history of our community, on school curriculum contents. Generally, one of the purposes of socials sciences teachers is building better citizens: to improve their critical thinking and reflective skills. Nowadays, chueta stigma is calmed down, but this pacification is not a consequence of autocriticism but of ignorance. Therefore, we consider that it is time to begin to explain to our teenagers the hatred that chueta community has suffered, just because of having a surname within a group of fifteen, because of the students being able to neglect this exclusion and being aware that a same situation must not happen again.
