[eng] Engaging and motivating students as well as fostering critical thinking, cooperation, and communication whilst working on particular concepts and contents in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) subject is a challenging task. This project highlights the significance of the teacher’s role in the contexts of most public schools and educational centres in the Balearic Islands, where a lack of resources coexist with students of all backgrounds.
A teaching proposal grounded on ProjectHbased Learning (PjBL) is developed on the basis of the 21st Century Skills, whilst fostering Cooperative Learning Groups in the framework of an inclusive educational system. For this matter, a quantitative and a qualitative data analysis was performed, in order to verify the level of awareness and knowledge amongst the teaching staff of the secondary school of Son Servera.
The results showed that teachers are mindful of the need for a change regarding teaching approaches, and that they are also aware of the positive outcomes of the use of technology in the class for academic purposes. |
