dc.description.abstract [eng] The present work examines the needs of the current Spanish educational situation emphasizing the special attention that the Balearic context requires. Departing from a review of the most salient aspects of cooperative learning, a practical proposal has been designed to be carried out in the English class. The main aim of this proposal lies on improving students’ communicative competence through the realization of a cooperative project in which students will need to creatively propose a solution to a current problem: reducing the harmful impact of human activity on the environment. With the help of the ICT, the project will enable students to work on meaningful content while still promoting the development of entrepreneurship, social skills, critical thinking and civic values. ca
