[eng] Introduction: Spasticity is a sensorimotor disorder that affects many neurological pathologies, including stroke, multiple sclerosis, hypoxic brain damage, traumatic brain injury, tumors and hereditary degenerative diseases. It affects many patients and can cause a significant disability.
Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the DNHS technique in the treatment of spasticity in neurological diseases.
Methods: We searched for articles that demonstrate the effectiveness of the application of DNHS in spasticity in neurological diseases in different muscle groups and the benefits that this technique has at the physiological level.
Results: Four studies have been found on isolated cases and 3 clinical trials. The monitoring done of the application is between 1 day and 3 weeks. An improvement in the degree of spasticity (MAS), in the range of passive movement of the joint (ROM) and in the ratio Hmax / Mmax is observed.
Conclusion: This work suggests an improvement in the parameters measured with the application of the technique. Despite this, further investigation is recommended.
