Poden actuar les xarxes socials com a teràpia d’afrontament en pacients oncològics adults joves?

[cat] Els adults joves diagnosticats de càncer es troben de sobte davant una malaltia poc pròpia per la seva edat, amb tot el que això comporta. Moltes vegades les necessitats psicosocials són majors en aquesta franja d’edat i no són cobertes pels professionals sanitaris. L’ús de les xarxes socials ha augmentat considerablement, i cada vegada són més usades per a cercar o publicar informació sobre salut. Els joves són els més propensos a utilitzar aquests tipus d’eines però encara està en controvèrsia la seva utilització envers temes de salut. Per tant, emergeix la necessitat d’investigar les avantatges i desavantatges d’usar les xarxes socials. Les xarxes socials tenen molts d’avantatges com apropar persones amb mateixes circumstàncies, és un mètode barat i que pot arribar a molta gent a temps real entre d’altres; però presenta inconvenients referents a la privacitat, la confidencialitat i la qualitat de la informació publicada. També és d’interès identificar quines són les estratègies per difondre informació sobre el càncer a les xarxes socials, on el contingut visual és el recurs que capta més l’atenció de l’observador. Però, l’objectiu principal és veure si les xarxes socials poden ajudar a l’enfrontament dels pacients adults joves diagnosticats amb càncer. L’evidència mostra que és molt important una bona relació metge-pacient, però les xarxes socials han resultat ser un mitjà convenient per acumular recursos d’afrontament i complementar l’activitat professional.

Usually, the psychosocial needs are bigger during this stage of life and they are not cover by the healthcare professionals. The usage of the social networks has increased considerably and they are more used for searching or publishing information about health. Young adults are more likely to use these types of tools but there are some doubts about the usage for medical purposes. Therefore, it exists a need to do some research about the pros and cons of the usage of the social networks. Social networks have a plenty of pros such as get people in touch with the same conditions or circumstances, it is a cheap method and it can reach a lot of people in real time and so on, but there are some cons regarding privacy, confidentiality and the quality of the information published. Moreover, it is important to identify which are the strategies to reveal information about cancer in social networks, where the visual content is the resource that really attracts the attention to the lurker. However, the main aim is to ensure that social networks are able to help young patients who are diagnosed with cancer coping. Studies reveal that it is important to stablish a good doctor-patient relationship, but social networks have turned out to be a good way to accumulate resources in order to confront and complete the professional activity.
