[eng] Political Geography is an international journal related to all geographical and spatial aspects of politics and the political. The first issue was published in 1982, when the journals name was Political Geography Quarterly and changed to its actual name in 1992; thus, the journal celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2016. Inspired by this event, this paper provided a lifetime overview of the journal using bibliometric indicators. This analysis includes key factors, such as the most cited articles, leading authors, originating institutions and countries, and insights into the publication and citation structures. To conduct this analysis, the paper uses the Scopus database for all the journal information available in this database (1982 - 2017). Additionally, the paper uses VOS viewer software to create a graphic map of the bibliometric results. This graphical analysis uses bibliographic coupling and co-citations. Through this analysis, we attain a deeper understanding of how Political Geography is linked to other journals and researchers across the globe. The results indicate that Political Geography is a journal that must be considered in the areas of geography, planning, development and politics, by a wide range of authors, institutions and countries worldwide, as of its importance in his fields.
