Evaluación del impacto de Airbnb sobre los movimientos migratorios de la población de Mallorca

[spa] Durante los últimos años, la denominada economía colaborativa se ha expandido con fuerza por varios sectores económicos. Uno de ellos es el alquiler vacacional, promovido por las principales plataformas de alquiler de corta duración como Airbnb o Homeaway, entre otras. El presente trabajo pretende abordar cómo esta tipología de alojamiento está afectando a la población local de Mallorca, analizando principalmente cómo se están modificando los padrones de cada uno de los municipios de la isla y si existe correlación entre esta variación de población y el incremento de la oferta de alquiler vacacional.

[eng] During last years the collaborative economy has expanded strongly through the different economy sectors. One of those is the area related to short term rentals, promoted by the main short term rental platforms such as Airbnb or Homeaway, among others. The present work aims to adress how this type of accomodation is affecting the local population of Mallorca, analyzing mainly how the registers of each one of the municipalities of the island are being modified and whether there is a relationship between this modification and the increase in the offer of this type of accomodation.
