[eng] The Balearic lizard (Podarcis lilfordi) is a native species of the Gymnesics islands, it has been cataloged as endangered by the IUCN. Because of its small population size and almost extinct in the major islands of Mallorca and Menorca. The aim of this work is to analyze the population variability, the phylogenetic relationships and the genetic structure of Podarcis lilfordi to the Cabrera Archipelago, through the use of molecular markers such as the mitochondrial DNA control region.
The results reveal the presence of three clades within the archipelago, a relationship between the intrapopulation genetic variability and the surface of the islands and also it is shared haplotypes of Cabrera Gran, which suggesting that the island acted as a genetic reservoir.
