respecto a la vida social y como esta centralidad se ha ido construyendo históricamente;
[eng] The central idea set out in my thesis is that work remains the defining factor for the
human being's antonomasia. My purpose is to demonstrate the articulatory role of work
regarding social life and how this centrality has been built historically; That is to say,
analyse the changing role of work and its current situation. Although its role has been
capital, it varies in the course of history; this is so because its centrality depends on the
social relations of production and these are transformed. Some transformations that are
reflected in the speeches about the work. A study that analyses the conceptions of work
from primitive societies to the twenty-first century, concepts that differ, above all, from
the emergence of capitalism and its intrinsic necessity of the accumulated work for its reproduction. But work is not an economic variable, the world of work is a central space
for identity formation and remains a fundamental organizer of life and everyday life.
Structural unemployment and new labor conditions, such as precariousness, temporality
and labor flexibility emerging since the 2007 crisis, condition the speech of consent. The
revision of the concept of work, of the speeches and of its socio-economic conditions is
presented as a necessity.
