Societat, cultura i política a l’època dels moviments migratoris cap Amèrica i Europa. El cas de la vall de Sóller (1830-1936)

Abstract

[cat] Aquesta investigació pretén, dins el marc de la història local, explicar el desenvolupament social i cultural d’una zona molt concreta de l’illa de Mallorca, la vall de Sóller, que es troba directament lligada al fenomen migratori cap Amèrica i Europa. Aquesta emigració ultramarina, fou clau per a l’evolució d’aquest espai i va definir l’evolució política i sociocultural d’aquest. L’estudi vol ser l’anàlisi de les persones i els esdeveniments que s’han succeït a les localitats de Sóller i Fornalutx des de 1830 fins el 1936. Amb tot, no és pretén tenir la darrera paraula sobre el tema estudiat, sols fer una aportació a aquest que ajudi a entendre l’evolució social, política, cultural i econòmica d’aquest espai i, com varen influir els moviments migratoris a l’exterior a dita evolució.

[spa] Esta investigación pretende, dentro del marco de la historia local, explicar el desarrollo social y cultural de una zona muy concreta de la isla de Mallorca, el valle de Sóller, que se encuentra directamente ligada con el fenómeno migratorio hacía América y Europa. Esta emigración ultramarina, fue clave para la evolución de este espacio y definió la evolución política y sociocultural de este. Este estudio, pretende hacer un análisis de las individuos y los acontecimientos que se sucedieron en las localidades de Sóller y Fornalutx desde 1830 hasta el 1936. Con todo, no se pretende tener la última palabra sobre el tema estudiado, sólo hacer una aportación a este, que ayude a entender la evolución social, política, cultural y económica de este espacio y, como influyeron los movimientos migratorios al exterior a dicha evolución.

[eng] This research pretends, in the scope of the local history, to explain the social and cultural development of a very concrete part of the Island of Majorca, the Sóller Valley, which is directly linked to the phenomenon of migration to America and Europe- This oversea emigration was the key for the progress of this territory and defined its political, social and cultural evolution. This study is meant to analyze the events and the people involved in them in the towns of Sóller and Fornalutx in the period between 1830 and 1936. All things considered, it does not pretend to have the last word on the studied subject, simply to contribute to it, aiding to the insight in social, political, cultural and economic evolution of this period and how the migratory streams influenced on the mentioned progress.
